What a long day it’s been! Our 5am departure seems roughly a week ago already. We had a very smooth and pleasant ferry crossing followed by a lengthy trek across Scotland and the north of England, broken up with a picnic lunch at Gretna Green. After visiting the National Railway Museum and joining in with some fun experiments, we finally checked into the Wheatlands Lodge Hotel - some of us are still trying to unpack! We went for a bracing stroll around beautiful York as the sun set - early start tomorrow again!
