Year 7 STEM Day at SWC, Omagh
As part of our partnership with The Royal Academy of Engineering, Year 7 received funding for a visit to South West College Omagh on Thursday 26th September 2024 to take part in a tour and vairous STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities.
We arrived at SWC, Omagh at 10am. We had a tour of more practical side of the campus, including the learning labs and workshops which included the 3D printer and the mechanics area. We heard all about and saw some fun and exciting new technology, including the use of robots.
After our packed lunch, we completed four different activities, involving LEGO, robots and drawing. We loved the robots and the challenges we had to complete with them. Drawing the 'Engineer in ME' was also very fun!
Thank you to Bronagh from The Royal Academy of Engineering and Joanne from South West College for organising the event and for the goodie bags provided for each child. Thank you also to John from SWC for taking the children on a tour of the campus. We all had a wonderful day!
