Year 7 go 'All Around the World'
Room 12 on tour!
The children were very excited today to go on a school trip to the Strule Arts Centre! We had a fantastic time at the 'All Around the World' exhibition, as part of 'Good Relations Week'. We found out all about different cultures from across the globe, and even got to see real life items and clothing. It was a fantastic trip to celebrate International Day of Languages.
Have a look at the pictures below for a taste of what we saw today!
That wasn't all though - we also had an hour of African drumming! Having learnt all about the terms rhythm, crescendo, pulse and melody, the children were each given their own African drum. We then all joined in to create our very own rhythm and groove.
When we got back to school, we had our lunch and then discussed all of the different languages we have in our classroom and learnt how to say a few simple phrases.
Thank you to the Strule Arts Centre and all the staff for a brilliant day out. The children loved it!
Well done Year 7, you were all excellent today.
