Year 6 take part in the Great Garden Birdwatch!
29th Jan 2024
Year 6 took a trip to Arleston Park today to get involved in the RSPB Great Garden Bird Watch.
We came armed with bird identification sheets and clipboards and some people even brought their own binoculars.
We managed to spot a variety of birds including magpies, robins, sparrows and mallards on the pond. We even saw a heron for the second time on a trip this year!
Some of the birds were difficult to identify but we used clues about their size, shape and colour to (hopefully) work out what type of bird we had seen. When we returned to school we collected and shared our results ready to send off to the RSPB.
