Year 5 Ulster Scots Workshops with Holy Family PS
4th Dec 2015
On Friday 4th December Year 5 met with the Holy Family PS pupils at Omagh Library for a morning of Ulster Scots Workshops. We all took part in three workshops. There was a Scottish Dancing Workshop, a tartan weaving workshop and a workshop about Ulster Scots music and dialect.
It was a really great morning - we discovered many of our surnames were of Scottish origins as were many of the funny words we say that you would not find in the Oxford Dictionary- our favourite words were "scundered" and "foundered" .
Matt even tried to give Zak a lesson on the chanter - it was not a pleasant sound.
