Year 4's Busy Half Term ( Mrs Alcorn's Class)
What a fantastic half term it has been for our Year 4 students! They have been hard at work, diving into exciting topics and engaging activities across various subjects.
Numeracy Adventures
In Numeracy, Year 4 have been exploring place value and honing their addition skills. The students have shown great enthusiasm as they tackled challenges and developed their understanding of numbers.
Literacy Learning
In Literacy, the focus has been on capital letters, full stops, question marks, and exclamation marks. Our young writers have begun their first writing unit on instructions, and they've been having a blast writing and following recipes. A highlight was definitely creating their very own Halloween buns—what a treat!
Healthy Living Fun
During Activity Time, tied to their World Around Us topic on Healthy Living, Year 4 have been engaged in fun and educational activities. Through playful experiences and teamwork, they’ve consolidated their learning while using ICT tools to enhance their projects.
P.E. with a Twist
In P.E., the students have been having a wonderful time participating in Scottish Country Dancing with Ruth. Check out the videos below to see their impressive moves!
A Special Visit
Year 4 also had a special visit from the Amazing Journey, where they learned about the Bible. The students enjoyed dressing up in clothes from Bible Times and even got to taste some foods that people would have eaten back then!
Halloween Celebrations
To wrap up the term, our students dressed up for the Halloween disco and had a blast creating Dave the Minion scarecrow for the PTFA Pumpkin Patch. It was a great way to celebrate the season and showcase their creativity!
We're so proud of Year 4 for their hard work and enthusiasm this half term. Keep an eye out for more updates, and enjoy the videos of our Scottish Country Dancing!
