Year 2 had a great adventure in Antarctica!
Before we left the classroom, we planned our trip, wrote lists for what we needed to bring and gathered our resources. We learnt about famous polar explorers including Ernest Shackleton. On the very day of our expedition we found out that a search had started for his ship 'The Endurance' that sank over 100 years ago!
We dressed in our warmest clothes to protect us from frostbite and we set of to explore the coldest, windiest place on earth! We were able to observe and collect information about animals that live in the Antarctic. Our binoculars and telescopes came in handy as some of them were hard to spot!
