This morning, Year 1 headed off on their first adventure beyond the gates of OCPS. Rev Graham Hare had very kindly invited the boys and girls to visit St Columba’s Parish Church to explore the celebration of ‘harvest’.
On arrival, we were treated to an amazing picnic snack, including some delicious homemade scones (thank you Hannah) and sausage rolls. After, Graham and Alexander led a selection of workshops; tasting the fruits of harvest and planting daffodil bulbs. Our little farmers dreams came true when Eliza’s daddy arrived to show the children his tractor and hedge cutter - lots of keen volunteers willing to help Mr Tait in the future!
We finished our morning with a tour of the beautifully decorated church, a presentation from Alexander and a fun sing song with Graham.
