Year 1 All About Me
11th Oct 2018
Year 1 said goodbye to their first topic 'All About Me' this week. We have really enjoyed learning about ourselves, our families and our school.
We have been exploring our topic in lots of different ways including;
- Singing topic songs (heads shoulders knees and toes, if you're happy, two little eyes, one finger one thumb)
- Role playing in the Home Corner and Baby Clinic
- Bathing the babies in the water tray
- Drawing around and labelling our bodies
- Measuring how tall we are
- Recording our eye colour and hair colour on pictograms
- Recognising our name
- Talking about ourselves
- Creating 'real' timelines using photographs
As a special treat to end our topic, Mrs Alcorn brought baby Tom in to visit us. We loved getting a look inside his baby bag to see what kind of things he needs. Tom is very different to us in Year 1 and we look forward to meeting him again later in the year to see how he has changed. Thank you Tom and Mrs Alcorn!
We hope you enjoy looking at some of the things we have been doing...
