This week, we ended our topic of 'Space' with a bang as we carried out a real explosion in Year 1. We all loved being scientists and predicting what was going to happen when we added the Mentos to the bottle of coke. Mrs Pollock and Ms Bunce ended up getting sprayed with the sticky foam! Yuck!
We had the brilliant idea to open our very own 'Alien Cafe' during play and have been busy making planet pasta, starry soup and red mars cake. Yum Yum! This week the customers were using their credit cards to pay but next week we will be sending them off with real money in their purse. How exciting!
We will be sad to pack away our space themed toys as we have all had such great fun exploring this exciting topic. Today, we talked about all of things we have learned in the last month and selected our favourite activity. Why not talk about this at home together?
The school nurses came to visit our classes on Wednesday. They talked to us about healthy eating and gave us a special star chart to complete at home. The nurses will be back to see us on Tuesday 8th February - please remember to return your nurses form to your class teacher ASAP.
