The Science of Water for Year 3
8th Apr 2025
Year 3 had a lovely Monday afternoon learning about 'The Science of Water' from Richard, Jack and Michael, visitors from the Loughs Agency.
We learned the importance of keeping our rivers clean and free from pollution. We also looked at how rubbish and discarded fishing equipment can harm the wildlife within the area.
The boys and girls then got to explore some of the life within our local rivers. Children were able to investigate different samples of water to find stone flies, water beetles, mayflies, worms, freshwater shrimps and caddis flies.
We even saw a just hatched salmon egg with its yolk sac still attached! It looked like a very tiny little fish!
