Sustrans Bikeability Cycle Training
3rd Nov 2015
For 3 days in October, 16 Year 6 pupils were given the opportunity to take part in Sustrans’ Cycle Training. On the first day Ed and Richard took the group into the senior playground, showed them how to check their bikes and used various activities to practice bicycle control including stopping, manoeuvring, signalling and using gears. All the pupils successfully passed this part of their training.
The next two days saw the groups heading out to a nearby quiet road where they learned how to pass a parked car safely and how to turn left and right at a junction.
The pupils really enjoyed the training and want to say a big thank you to Ed and Richard.
