P5 investigate sound
16th Nov 2024
P5 have been learning about their 5 senses. Work on hearing involved using tuning forks and looking at what happened when we put them in water. We also studied what happened when we hit a drum with some rice sitting on the skin. The children used paper-cup telephones and discovered how to make the sound clearer and what to do to ‘mute’ the call. And finally, maybe the hardest, was making a paper-straw whistle. Despite the challenge, there was good vibrations everywhere!
