Year 4 in November and December: A Term of Learning and Fun (Mrs Alcorn’s Class)
As we near the end of the term, Year 4 pupils have been busy making fantastic progress across a variety of subjects!
In Literacy, the children have been exploring nouns and adjectives, learning how to describe the world around them with more detail and creativity. Their writing skills have really come to life as they practice using descriptive words to make their sentences shine.
In Numeracy, Year 4 have focused on addition and subtraction, with a particular emphasis on mastering the x2 multiplication tables. They’ve also been investigating angles and symmetry, applying these concepts to shapes and real-world problems.
Year 4’s World Around Us topic has been both fun and educational, with pupils learning all about healthy living. They’ve discovered how their senses, digestion, and respiratory system work together to keep them healthy, with plenty of hands-on activities to deepen their understanding.
In ICT, the children have been developing their typing and text editing skills, while also creating their own Winter animations. It's been amazing to see their creativity come to life through digital art and animation!
It's been a term full of hard work, new skills, and lots of enthusiasm. We’re excited to share some photos of Year 4 in action!
