Magnificent May in Room 1
Room 1 have enjoyed May, especially all of the extra days off because of the Bank Holidays.
Fitness Freddie came to visit school and we raised lots of sponsorship money.
We made painting using straws and marbles. We discovered that the straw blow painting worked better when we sprayed the paper with a little water. Marshmallow slime was a very messy but fun activity. Some of us really liked the taste of the slime. We also created our artwork for entry to the Omagh Show art competition.
We learned all about forces and had great fun completing investigations and experiments. We discovered that there are forces all around us and that gravity keeps us from floating away into space.
We worked on our independence skills and buttered our own crackers for our afternoon snack.
We completed some follow along PE lessons with Core Kids as well as our practice for Sport’s Day. Sport’s Day was lots of fun and we enjoyed spending the morning with our family.
In play we made lots of models using our construction toys.
We planted our sunflowers and are enjoying watching them grow.
In numeracy we have been learning all about finding halves and quarters of shapes and quantities.
We even won Miss Funston’s prize for the best class in assembly.
