Kindness and Anti-Bullying Week in Year 7
Room 9 and Room 12 completed various activities over the past week related to World Kindness Day and Anti-Bullying Week.
Room 12 got into small groups and then planned and performed their own drama based on a random act of kindness! Have a look at the photographs below to see the planning underway as well as a peek at the performances! We also read out what we had written about ourselves and put in the kindness jar, as it is important to be kind to yourself! Room 9 took part in a debate and created some fantastic posters based on our theme 'One Kind Word'. They also joined with a partner to create a word together, which you can see in the photographs below.
We also discussed bullying behaviours, the value of friendship and kindness. Ms Funston focused on Anti-Bullying as part of her assembly this week, which was very informative and gave us plenty to discuss.
Finally, we discussed tone of voice and whether that can sometimes be hurtful. We then took it in turns to try and get some toothpaste back into a tube. Everyone tried very hard and put in a lot of effort, although we all knew it was impossible to get all of it back into the tube.
We finished with a discussion about how that applies to our words and actions, and how they also can't be taken back.
Well done for all your excellent work Year 7!
