P2 scientists ended our Polar Lands topic by carrying out investigations with ice!
First we had to help Peter Penguin find out which was the coldest place in the classroom. We placed ice on the radiator, in the store, at the door and on the teacher’s desk. Then we watched to see which ice cube melted the slowest. Can you remember where the coldest place was?
Next we wanted to find out what would make ice melt the fastest- cold, heat, salt, sugar or water. We worked in groups in a race to melt the ice. The results were quite surprising! Tell an adult at home what we found out.
