Fantastic February in Room 1
We started February off by learning all about Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the tiger. We read the story about why the Chinese Zodiac was created. We used lollipop sticks to make a frame and put a picture of our Chinese Zodiac animal in the centre. We all enjoyed making our Chinese Dragon.
We finished off our literacy topic, poetry. We created our own acrostic poems and poems about colour. We decorated them to use on our display and we are very proud of our work.
We have been learning lots of new things in class. Some of us have been using sounds cubes to help us to build our words – we worked together to find the sounds we needed.
For Mental Health week we learned about the Five Steps to Well-Being. We completed an activity for each of the five steps in school.
We made special chocolates for our Valentine’s. We melted the chocolate and added decorations J Don’t they look yummy?
Our sensory circuit in the hall really helps us to get ready for the day ahead.
We were learning about whether objects float or sink in our World around Us investigation. We had lots of fun making predictions and then testing whether we were right.
