Recent stormy weather brought down conkers a little earlier than usual from their homes high up in some local Horse Chestnut tree. The windfall was brought into Room 5 and the class set about observing and describing the outer shell of the Horse Chestnut fruit. We then used plasticine to mould our own spiky sculptures. When we were researching Horse Chestnut Trees we discovered an old wives tale that suggests spiders don't like the smell of conkers!
