There was a dazzling display of colours today at Omagh County Primary as pupils throughout the school 'ditched the dark' in favour of their brightest clothes to walk to school. 74 Pupils boarded walking buses from three different meeting points in town this morning and walked to school led by teachers and classroom assistants.
The purpose of the event was to encourage people to be more active and visible on their journey to school... mission accomplished! Key Stage 2 have been carrying out a survey this week to determine the impact 'Ditch the Dark Day' would have on our environmental footprint. The results were amazing. Three times as many people walked to school today, reducing the number of people using cars by 50%!
