Big Battery Hunt
A big thanks to everyone who brought in batteries to recycle. Those involved in collecting the batteries in school built up a few extra muscles ferrying the batteries to their final weighing point in Room 5. Together we have collected 103 kg of batteries which is approximately the weight of a new born elephant!
These were taken to our local recycling centre in Omagh where they will be turned into new batteries, steel for the construction industry and maybe even grass fertiliser!
Whilst we have stopped collecting batteries in school, we would urge you to continue the good work and keep recycling. There’s a collection point which looks very much/exactly like a tiny wheelie bin in Omagh Recycling Centre where you can drop them off.
