In Year 4/5 we have been studying Omagh. We have been learning about direction and have come up with lots of ways to remember North, East, South and West. We even made our own compass using a sewing needle, a bar magnet, a leaf and a bowl of water. We magnetised the needle and placed it on top of the leaf floating in the water. The needle then pointed north. We were able to check with a real compass to make sure!
