Year 1 Forest School (Week 2)

24th Mar 2022

Year 1 made the most of the sunshine today and headed back to Arleston Park for their second 'Forest School' lesson.

Today, the boys and girls were using sticks to explore length. After safely finding a stick, no longer than their arm, the children had to work with their partners to decide whose stick was the longest and the shortest. Everyone joined their sticks together to make a super snake through the forest - I wonder if it will still be there next week?

Henrietta, our class hedgehog, came with us on our trip today. She was looking for a new home. Year 1 were delighted to become architects and builders to create houses of all shapes and sizes for our fuzzy friend. Henrietta didn't want to come back to Omagh County after seeing all the luxury new builds on offer in the park!

After fueling up on sandwiches, oranges and biscuits it was back to school to write about our adventures.

Well done Year 1, another very successful day out!
