Year 1 Christmas Adventure to An Creagan

9th Dec 2018

On Thursday 6th and Friday 7th of December, EY1 and EY2 headed off on a 'Christmas Adventure' with their friends from Holy Family Primary School to participate in the winter wonderland experience at the An Creagan Centre.

The children were treated to hot chocolate and cookies on arrival, then set to work making bird feeders for Santa's robins. We were amazed at the different dried fruit that woodland birds eat in winter and developed our fine motor skills by threading them all onto long pieces of wire - something I am sure we will be trying at home!

After adventuring through the forest to decorate Mrs Clause's tree with our new bird feeders we met a very cold Robin who had lost his vests. We had a lot of searching to do to locate all the different vests in the forest. Santa was so pleased when we found them that he invited us into his cottage for a 'sing song' and gave us each a special Christmas star to hang on our tree at home.

After our busy morning we were all very hungry, so were delighted with our delicious lunch provided by the staff at An Creagan. Sandwiches, sausages and chips...yum yum!

Thank you to the staff at An Creagan for our lovely day out and to our friends from Holy Family for joining us on our adventure. We look forward to working with them throughout the year.

Enjoy looking at some of our pictures!
